More than ten years of experience

Dr. Maurizio Crippa and Dr. Matteo Parravicini started working on the idea using microwaves to depolymerize PET at lab scale. At that time, the focus was on bottles, as it was considered THE problem to solve.
2011
Patent titled “Method and apparatus for the recycling of polymeric materials via depolymerization process” was filed. In the same year the company was founded.
2012
Awarded with CTI label. CTI Start-up enables creative entrepreneurs to realize their innovative business ideas quickly and professionally. In the same year GR3N was among the Cleantech Open (CTO) finalist.
2013
DEMETO - DEMETO was a European Project and has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The 13 partners that formed the DEMETO consortium were from all over Europe and share the common vision.
2017
Series A funding - Among the investors Intecsa Industrial, Standex International, Chevron technology Venture (CTV) and UpCycle.
2021
Labeled Solar Impulse Efficient Solution - MADE, Microwave Assisted DEpolymerization was attributed the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label following an assessment performed by external independent experts and based on verified standards. It is thereby joining the #1000solutions challenge, an initiative by the Solar Impulse Foundation to select solutions that meet high standards in profitability and sustainability and present them to decision-makers to fast-track their implementation.
2022
GR3N announced that its goal of being the world's leading supplier of enhanced recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is closer to becoming a reality, thanks to the signing of a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its shareholder Intecsa Industrial to set up a Joint Venture. GR3N together with Intecsa Industrial will join forces and build a "First-of-a-Kind" (FOAK) manufacturing facility, commencing EPC phase in Q4-2024 and aiming to be operational in 2027.
2023
GR3N and Intecsa Industrial confirmed partnership to build first PET recycling plant: MADE, our second demo plant.
